Greenwich Village North will be a car-free zone. Golf carts and bicycles will be available for getting around the site.

All of the facilities at Greenwich Village North will be high-end quality, including a greenhouse structure that will house a botanical paradise, along with health spa exercise equipment and washrooms.

A putting green will offer golfers a chance to hone their short game, and a children's playground will be filled with fun things to do, including a real fishing boat to climb on. The Village shop will offer a wide range of books and eco-friendly products as well as gifts and items for the home and garden



A barn/workshop will feature a meeting room and multi-media communications station, plus a maintenance workshop for a hands-on experience that will teach visitors some of the trades and skills that help to sustain community life. On-site laundry facilities will be available for all guests.

Everything from solar photovoltaic electricity producing systems, to the smallest of energy-saving gadgets, and environmentally friendly building materials, furnishings, and designs will be employed.

There will be an attractive mix of environmentally friendly accommodations from which to choose at Greenwich Village North:

• Thirty picturesque eco-cottages (deluxe two bedroom structures), designed in architectural styles traditional to rural Prince Edward Island, will be landscaped in a manner that creates the atmosphere of a traditional village. They will be built to Canada Select 3.5 star standards or above, and will feature high quality, tasteful furnishings.
  
  
• Twenty Woodland Summer Retreat Cottages (deluxe, seasonal one-room structures), will feature solitude and more rustic furnishings. They will also offer elegant and charming design to create an atmosphere of being close to nature in a comfortable environment with easy access to amenities.

• Fifty acres of cultivated land will feature a diversity of fruits, vegetable and grains all grown to the specification of organic certification standards.
• Explanatory signage will describe the varieties of crops being grown, and illustrate current research projects of certified organic agricultural production systems.
• Botanical information will describe the traditional and medicinal value of trees and herbs growing nearby, and will highlight information about the wildlife that inhabits the surrounding woodlands.
• Signage along self-guided nature trails will raise awareness of diversity of plants and animals on the site. Visitors will see special gardens that create miniature nature reserves specifically for attracting wildlife.
• Interpretive stations in the Village Garden will introduce you to the theory and principles of how wind and sun can provide a substantial proportion of our energy needs.
• A wind turbine will show you how lights and small appliances in remotely situated houses are powered.
• A solar electricity display, using the principle of solar cells or photovoltaics, will illustrate the different types of solar electricity systems currently in use.
• A classic barn will house a theatre, workshop and classroom spaces.
• The village's main building offers a panoramic view from the restaurant and lounge. Dine organic produce grown on-site; the perfect complement to a delightful cuisine that integrates the region's land and sea products. A media centre will supply electronic access to the outside world for business or pleasure. And the village store will carry items ranging from basic necessities to the latest energy-saving and conservation appliances.
• The recreational areas include a children's playground, sports fields, hiking trails, putting greens, and an exercise/fitness centre located in a botanical conservatory.
